Scania EMS S7

Years Fitted: Roughly up to 2005–2006 (Early Euro 4).
Visual/Technical Characteristics: Typically used in PDE (unit injector) systems. The units are often associated with earlier Scania 4-series and early P, G, R, T series trucks. It is often labelled "E44" or "Motorola".
Key Identification: Primarily found on older engines where emissions controls were less complex (EGR only or no SCR).

Scania EMS S8

Years Fitted: Roughly 2006–2011/2012 (Euro 4/Early Euro 5).
Visual/Technical Characteristics: Introduced to handle stricter Euro 4/5 standards. These units often support both PDE and early XPI systems.
Key Identification: Replaced the S6, offering improved diagnostics and memory for emission controls (AdBlue/SCR).
Years Fitted: Roughly 2011–2018 (Late Euro 5/Euro 6).

Give a clear, simple explanation of the issue as observed by you or your technician.

What is the vehicle or system doing?
What is it not doing that it should?

A concise description helps us quickly understand the symptoms and focus on the right areas.

When the Fault Occurs

Understanding when the issue happens is key to identifying patterns.
