Why do Adblue Pumps Fail
AdBlue Dosing Pumps, like any mechanical or electronic component, can fail for various reasons.
- Contamination – Dust, dirt, fuel, oil and other chemicals (including poor quality Adblue) can enter the system, leading to blockages, corrosion or damage.
- System blocked – Over time, AdBlue pumps can be become clogged with impurities or crystallised Adblue deposits. This can restrict the flow of the AdBlue fluid and cause damage.
- Electrical issues – Adblue pumps rely on electrical components such as motors, sensors and wiring for operation. Electrical failures such as short circuits, damaged wiring or faulty sensors can prevent correct functionality.
- Mechanical wear and tear – Like any mechanical device. Components such as seals, bearings and diaphragms can degrade over time. Resulting in reduced performance or pump failure.
- Overheating – AdBlue pumps may fail due to overheating caused by excessive operating temperatures or inadequate cooling.
- Poor Maintenance – Lack of regular maintenance will result in your dosing pump having a shorter than expected life span.
